It is darn right nasty outside!

Reported gusts of up to 15 mph at the top of Snowbowl and cold temperatures prevented the ski area from opening today. The mountain reports that the mercury is 8 below zero, but doesn’t indicate whether that includes windchill.
The same is true of the top of Whitefish Mountain Resort. With gusts up to 50 mph and windchill temperatures registering 40 below zero, the ski area closed all of its chairlifts to the top of Big Mountain. The lower lifts are still running and day ticket prices were reduced to $34 for adults and $19 for juniors and seniors. A steal, really, for anyone willing to brave the harsh elements.
Read more about this arctic blast in a story by Reporter Jenna Cederberg that ran in Wednesday’s Missoulian.
