FIVE INCHES OF FRESH SNOW AT CHIEF JOSEPH PASS
WISDOM, MONT., Dec. 14, 2007—Chief Joseph Pass, west of Wisdom,
got five inches of fresh snow this week. There are now 36 inches
of snow at the popular cross-country ski area.
Volunteers from the Bitterroot Cross-Country Ski Club groomed
the ski trails on Friday (Dec. 14).
Chief Joseph Pass has a 24-kilometer cross-country-ski-trail
system, along the Continental Divide, that’s open free to the

A warming hut a mile from the parking lot offers skiers a
chance to warm up, have something hot to drink, and enjoy their
sack lunches out of the weather.
