The past two days when I’ve called my sister and brother, they’ve been skiing when I’ve been working. There is nothing worse. Seriously.
My brother, a ski bum in Whitefish, has hit the slopes of Big Mountain several times already, skinning out of bounds to find fresh powder.
Today, I get a text from my sister: “Foot of fresh pow on opening day.” Brundage Mountain Resort outside of McCall, Idaho opened today after receiving 13 inches of new snow in the past 48 hours. If you’ve never skied there, I’d recommend a road trip.
Also, the top of Snowbowl opened this week, which is great news. The mountain is 55 percent open and the shuttle bus starts on Saturday, Dec. 19. Anyone who has taken the top already should leave their reviews here! We want to know.
